The Mystery of the Name of Jesus

Fear is a liar. It magnifies problems and hides solutions. It tries to silence faith with its voice, but God has given us authority over fear. Fear is not just an emotion; it is a spirit, and the only way to deal with a spirit is through spiritual authority. You cannot reason with fear; you confront it in the name of Jesus.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10). Many mention the name, but few truly call on it with understanding. There is a difference. In Acts 19 the evil spirit said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you? Those men tried to use the name without knowing the Lord of the name. The result was empty words without power. Authority flows out of relationship, not routine (Acts 19:13–16).

To call on Jesus is to lean your whole weight on Him. It is to trust that salvation, help and victory are found in no other name under heaven (Acts 4:12). Yet a name not spoken remains unused. Until it is released in faith, its power stays untapped.

Think of an infested house. You do not negotiate with roaches or with the flies that spread disease. You don’t sit back, hoping they leave on their own. You reach for something potent, something with power, and you release it into the atmosphere. The chemical spreads into corners you cannot see, touching what hides in the dark and bringing it down. You may not know the science behind it, but you know once it is released, it works.

But insecticide on the shelf is powerless until it is sprayed. In the same way, the name of Jesus must be spoken with faith. That name is not decoration, it is divine authority. Everything responds to it: in heaven, on earth and under the earth. Philippians 2:9 tells us God exalted Him and gave Him the name above every name. You do not bargain with the fiery darts of the enemy. You quench them. You stand in the authority God has placed on your lips, knowing Christ has given you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm you (Ephesians 6:16; Luke 10:19).

Here is the mystery of the name. Heaven recognises it. Hell trembles at it. Creation obeys it. So when darkness lingers, speak the name. When fear whispers, speak the name. When sickness tries to rest in your body, speak the name. Speak it boldly. Declare it with revelation. The atmosphere will shift. Chains will break. Hidden works of the enemy will scatter.

The battle is not yours, but the authority is in your mouth. Use it. Declare His Lordship. Ask the Father in the name of Jesus and expect Him to answer according to His will.

Remain blessed.

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
