Foluke Adeboye Appointed Chancellor of Caleb University

Foluke Adeboye, wife of Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has been named Chancellor of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos.

Her appointment was announced three days after the university conferred on her an honorary Doctor of Humanity degree during its 15th convocation ceremony.

In a statement issued on Monday by the institution’s information and media office, the university said Adeboye will serve as the ceremonial head of the institution. In that capacity, she will preside over convocations and confer degrees on graduating students.

The Vice Chancellor, Olalekan Asikhia, described the development as a landmark moment for the university. He said the institution views her appointment as a blend of academic pursuit and moral leadership at the highest level of governance.

According to him, Adeboye’s decades of experience in spiritual leadership, mentoring and institutional support have positioned her as a respected figure beyond the church community. He added that her guidance and values would contribute positively to the university’s growth and long term direction.

The Registrar, Mayokun Olumeru, also welcomed the appointment, describing her as a steady moral influence whose presence would strengthen the institution’s commitment to character and discipline.

Adeboye, a senior pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, is widely recognised for her work in education, family life advocacy and youth development initiatives.

QUOTES

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
