Gauff Storms Into First Miami Open Final With Dominant Win

Coco Gauff crushes Karolina Muchova in straight sets to reach her first Miami Open final in dominant fashion.

Coco Gauff powered into her first Miami Open final with a commanding straight-sets victory over Karolína Muchová. The 22-year-old American needed just one hour and 30 minutes to seal a 6-1 6-1 win, dropping only two games in a dominant display on home soil.

After being broken in the opening game, Gauff quickly took control, winning 10 consecutive games to overwhelm the 13th seed and continue her strong record against Muchova.

“It was not as straightforward as the scoreline suggests,” Gauff said, explaining the tactical adjustments she made during the match.

Playing in Florida, Gauff also highlighted the advantage of being close to family, alternating between her own home and her parents’ house during the tournament.

The win is set to lift her above Iga Świątek to third in the WTA rankings, marking another milestone in her career.

Gauff will face either Aryna Sabalenka or Elena Rybakina in the final, as she aims to secure the Miami Open title.

“I am going out there with the belief that I can win,” she said.

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
