Adesua Etomi: Unveiling Secrets Of The Multiverse & Motherhood Magic
Adesua Etomi Wellington, a stunning Nigerian actress and half of one of the country’s entertainment power couples, has taken on a new role in the animated series “Secrets of the Multiverse,” which was made by a Nigerian for Nigerians and the world.
Adesua is joining another adventure in this animation, which is a spin-off of Blessing Amidu’s wildly popular Nigerian animation “Lady Bukit and Motley Mopsters.”
Leading the cast of “Secrets of the Multiverse” is an ecstatic Adesua in the role of Iyabo, a maternal figure whose persona serves as the story’s emotional center.
The mother of two stated in a recent interview that the role struck a deep chord with her own experiences.
“I want to be involved in projects that I can proudly tell my children to watch because I know that the values shared, love, discipline, empathy, kindness, are values that we uphold,” she said.
On her role and what it entails, Adesua simply said, “Iyabo is a mother; she is a nurturer. I need to tap into myself to play her. The role is not too far from home. I pulled from my own personal experiences. I am a mom as well, as you all know. I have two boys. And while I am mothering a girl here, you know that it is much more tasking to mother a little boy. So, I wouldn’t say it was too far or too emotionally challenging for me.”
Highlighting what drew her to the production, the actress said, “When I think about my childhood, I think about the animations that I watched. I’ve always been concerned that we don’t have as many animations for kids to watch. It’s very exciting that this is African, that this is Nigerian, made by us, for us, but shared with the entire world. That was one of the things that attracted me to it, first of all,”
Adesua also expressed what guides her decision to take on roles saying, “My guiding philosophy for me would be, first of all, God. I get Him very heavily involved in the things that I do. So, if I have peace about it, I do it. If I feel like it’s passing the sort of message that I want to share to the rest of the world, then I do it.”
On what she brings to the character of Iyabo in the ‘Secrets of the Multiverse,’ Adesua noted that her character reflects familiar African parenting dynamics.
“You hear the intonations, a mother calling her child by her full name. If you hear the full version of your name, you know there’s fire on the mountain,” she said.
Adesua Etomi’s journey exemplifies a remarkable blend of artistic brilliance, personal growth, and inspiring resilience. From unveiling the mysteries of the multiverse through her captivating roles to embracing the profound magic of motherhood, she continues to captivate audiences and inspire countless individuals worldwide.
Her story reminds us that true strength lies in embracing our multifaceted selves and that the magic of life unfolds when we pursue our passions with authenticity and grace.
