Adeleke University Students Raise Concerns Over Alleged Living Conditions, Appeal for Intervention

Some individuals claiming to be students of Adeleke University have taken to social media to express concerns about what they describe as poor living and learning conditions at the private institution.

The complaints surfaced in a video circulating online in which a speaker alleged that despite paying high tuition fees, students continue to face several challenges on campus. According to the claims, students reportedly pay about ₦2.5 million annually in tuition and other fees.

In the message accompanying the video, the complainant expressed frustration over the situation, alleging that students are subjected to difficult conditions despite the cost of attending the institution.

The individual claimed that essential services such as water supply and electricity are often inconsistent, making it difficult for students to carry out daily activities or attend classes comfortably. The complainant also alleged that food services and medical facilities available on campus are inadequate for students who rely on the institution for their daily welfare.

The claims have generated discussions across social media platforms, with many users questioning whether private universities that charge significant tuition fees should ensure higher standards of student welfare and campus facilities.

The complainant further alleged that some students are hesitant to speak openly about the situation out of fear that doing so could lead to disciplinary measures from the institution.

The message ended with an appeal to Nigerian music star Davido to draw the attention of his father, businessman Adedeji Adeleke, who founded the university, to the alleged issues raised by the students.

As of the time of this report, the management of Adeleke University has not issued an official response regarding the claims circulating online.

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
