Air Peace Hosts Abuja Forum Ahead of Abuja–London Flights Launch in October

Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace, convenes a high-level Abuja forum as preparations advanced for its Abuja–London route launch.

Air Peace Limited, Nigeria’s largest airline and West Africa’s aviation leader, on Monday held a high-level Travel Partner Forum at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, ahead of the launch of its Abuja–London flights scheduled for 26 and 28 October 2025.

The forum brought together Air Peace’s top-selling travel agents, executive members of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA), and representatives from global travel solutions providers Amadeus and Sabre, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to strong partnerships and expanding Nigeria’s global aviation presence.

A key moment was a detailed brand and route presentation by Air Peace’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Nowel Ngala, who highlighted the strategic importance of the London route, its impact on Nigeria’s travel market, and the vital role of travel partners. A robust Q&A session followed, offering stakeholders the opportunity to explore collaborative opportunities and strategies to boost sales and visibility.

In his goodwill message, Air Peace Chairman, Dr. Allen Onyema, praised travel agents for their support since the airline’s Lagos–London Gatwick service began in March 2024. He credited them with giving the airline confidence to expand into Heathrow and stressed Air Peace’s wider mission of economic empowerment.

“Beyond offering Nigerians world-class travel choices, Air Peace is deliberately creating employment through initiatives like our Graduate Trainee Programme, which has already opened doors for thousands of young Nigerians across diverse disciplines. We are committed to building a steady pipeline of skilled manpower and empowering the next generation to contribute to Nigeria’s growth story,” Onyema said.

To build excitement, the airline announced complimentary seats for select agents on the inaugural Abuja–London flight, along with heavily discounted fares during the introductory period. “Our Abuja brothers and sisters will not only experience this service firsthand but also benefit from massive discounts designed to make the route accessible and sustainable,” Onyema added.

NANTA President, Mr. Yinka Folami, commended Air Peace’s reliability and vision, pointing to the airline’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility under construction in Lagos as a game-changer for Nigeria and Africa. He pledged NANTA’s full support, describing Air Peace as a “national project” deserving of unity.

Representatives from Amadeus and Sabre also endorsed the initiative, noting that Air Peace’s integration into their global systems, spanning 160 countries and 55,000 agencies, would strengthen visibility and competitiveness for the new route.

The Abuja–London flights, complementing the Lagos–Gatwick service, mark another milestone in Air Peace’s global expansion strategy. The new route is expected to enhance travel options, stimulate tourism, deepen Nigeria–UK ties, create jobs, and foster cultural exchange.

With this development, Air Peace further cements its position as Nigeria’s aviation leader, driving connectivity, economic growth, and Nigerian hospitality worldwide.
