Gunfire Targets Rihanna’s Beverly Hills Home as Suspect Arrested

Police in Los Angeles have arrested a 35 year old woman after gunfire struck the Beverly Hills home of global music star Rihanna, authorities confirmed on Monday.

The suspect, identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, is being held on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly firing an AR-15 style rifle at the singer’s residence while she was inside the property. Ortiz is currently in police custody and her bail has been set at 10.2 million dollars.

According to investigators, officers responded to reports of gunfire at the luxury property at about 1:15 pm local time on Sunday. Authorities say the suspect fired several shots from a moving vehicle as it approached the home.

Rihanna, who was reportedly inside the mansion at the time of the incident, was not injured. No other injuries were reported. Police confirmed that shell casings believed to be from an assault style rifle were recovered at the scene.

Law enforcement officials later located a white Tesla believed to be connected to the suspect at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping centre, roughly eight miles from the singer’s residence. Ortiz was taken into custody shortly afterwards. Investigators say she is originally from Orlando, Florida.

Authorities have not yet established a clear motive for the attack and the investigation remains ongoing.

The incident comes during a busy period in the life of the international superstar. Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, welcomed her third child with rapper A$AP Rocky in September last year. The couple, who already share two sons named RZA and Riot, first revealed the pregnancy during the 2025 Met Gala.

Rihanna has remained one of the most influential figures in global entertainment and business. The Barbados born singer rose to international fame in the early 2000s with hit songs such as Pon de Replay and Umbrella. Over the past two decades she has expanded her career into business, launching successful brands including the cosmetics line Fenty Beauty and a lingerie company.

Now 37, Rihanna’s fortune is estimated by Forbes at more than one billion dollars, placing her among the world’s wealthiest female entertainers.

Representatives for the singer have not yet issued an official statement regarding the shooting. Authorities say further details will be released as the investigation continues.
