Hamas rejects talks as Israel reportedly perfects plans to seize the whole of Gaza

A senior Hamas official has dismissed the possibility of further ceasefire and hostage release negotiations, following Israel’s announcement that it plans to expand its ground offensive and maintain indefinite control over Gaza.

Bassem Naim told the BBC that Hamas would not consider any new proposals while Israel continues what he described as a “starvation war” against Palestinians.

“There is no point in talks under these conditions,” Naim said, rejecting Israel’s latest strategy.
