Wolverhampton Wanderers’ striker Tolu Arokodare emerged as the hero for the visitors, securing a vital point with a late equaliser in their 2–2 draw against Brentford.
The Nigerian international made an immediate impact after being introduced from the bench in the 74th minute at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Bees appeared to be in total control during the first half after Michael Kayode opened the scoring in the 22nd minute.
The momentum stayed with the hosts as Igor Thiago, celebrating his first call-up to the Brazil national squad earlier that day, doubled the advantage in the 37th minute.
However, Wolves found a lifeline just before the break when Adam Armstrong clinical finish reduced the deficit.
The visitors carried that energy into the second half and eventually found an equalizer through Tolu Arokodare in the 77th minute.
Just three minutes into his appearance, the 6ft 6in forward rose highest to meet a precise cross from Joao Gomes, directing a powerful header past Caoimhín Kelleher to level the scores.
Arokodare was inches away from completing a dramatic turnaround for the Premier League’s bottom club shortly after, but his second header of the night thundered off the crossbar.
This goal marked a significant milestone for the former KRC Genk man, as it was his third Premier League goal against London-based oppositions, since his club-record £22.5 million move last summer.
While the draw keeps Wolves 12 points adrift of safety, Arokodare’s revitalised form provides a glimmer of hope for Rob Edwards’ side as they head into the final seven matches of the season.
