The Lagos State Government has ordered a full investigation into the death of Elena Jessica, who reportedly died after suffering serious complications from a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.
Jessica’s sister, Nelli Jessica, confirmed the death in a post shared on social media, where she also raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding the surgery.
According to Nelli, the cosmetic procedure was carried out at Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Hospital, located in the Ikoyi area of Lagos. She alleged that the use of unsterilized medical instruments during the operation led to severe complications that eventually caused her sister’s death.
Following the allegations, the Lagos State Government said health authorities would conduct a thorough investigation to determine what happened and whether proper medical standards were followed at the facility.
Officials said the probe will review the hospital’s procedures, equipment, and the role of medical personnel involved in the surgery.
The case has sparked concern among Nigerians on social media, with many calling for stricter regulation of cosmetic surgery clinics across the state.
Authorities say further action will depend on the outcome of the investigation.
