NIESV Lagos Branch Leadership Joins UNILAG to Honour Prof. Otegbulu and Prof. Babawale

NIESV Lagos State Branch Chairman, ESV Tosin Kadiri FNIVS, led members of the Executive Committee to the retirement and sendforth ceremony organised in honour of Prof. A.C. Otegbulu and Prof. G.K. Babawale. The event was held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church Hall, University of Lagos.

The ceremony celebrated the remarkable careers of the two distinguished scholars, whose contributions to academia and the estate surveying and valuation profession have shaped generations of professionals. Beyond the classroom, both professors were widely acknowledged for their mentorship, leadership, and commitment to institutional growth.

In his remarks, the Branch Chairman joined other dignitaries in paying tribute to the retirees, commending their unwavering dedication to the Branch, the Institution, and the profession at large. He described their legacy as one built on excellence, integrity, and service.

The event drew an impressive gathering of eminent personalities within the profession. Among those present were ESV (Otunba Sir) Bola Onabadejo FNIVS, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Institution, who chaired the occasion, and ESV (Dr.) Ade Oletubo FNIVS, Trustee of the Institution. Also in attendance was ESV (Chief Dr.) Victor Adekunle Alonge PNIVS FRICS FCIoD, President and Chairman of Council.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Folashade Ogunsola, was ESV (Prof.) Timothy Nubi FNIVS. Other notable attendees included ESV Janet Shehu, Registrar of ESVARBON; ESV Rogba Orimalade FNIVS mni, the 25th Lagos State Branch Chairman and one of the organisers of the ceremony; ESV Dotun Bamigbola FNIVS, the 26th Branch Chairman and Council Member; and ESV Ayo Olamoju FNIVS, Assistant Publicity Secretary.

Members of the Branch, academics, students, family members, and friends gathered to honour the retiring professors. Many shared heartfelt reflections on the impact the scholars have made over the years, highlighting their influence in advancing professional standards, inspiring young practitioners, and strengthening academic excellence within the University of Lagos.

The ceremony was marked by warm tributes, gratitude, and celebration. It stood as a fitting sendforth for two accomplished professors whose work and mentorship will continue to shape the estate surveying and valuation profession for years to come.
