Okowa Secures Victory Over Ned Nwoko In Delta North; Dafinone Dominates Omo-Agege In Delta Central
Ifeanyi Okowa, a former governor of Delta State, defeated incumbent Senator Ned Nwoko in the Delta North senatorial primary election.
In the All Progressives Congress exercise, Okowa received 113,309 votes to defeat Nwoko, who received 2,612 votes.
In the APC senatorial primary in the Delta Central Senatorial District, incumbent Senator Ede Dafinone easily defeated former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege.
Party members participated in large numbers in the direct primary election, which was held under Option A4 throughout the district’s eight local government areas. It was generally regarded as peaceful, legitimate, and transparent.
Barrister Nusa Amagbor, the secretary of the APC National Assembly Primary Committee, announced the results, stating that Omo-Agege received 3,643 votes and Senator Dafinone received 116,252.
Amagbor praised stakeholders for their orderly behavior throughout the process and stated that the exercise was successfully carried out in accordance with the party’s guidelines.
After obtaining the greatest number of valid votes cast, he declared Senator Dafinone the victor of the Delta Central Senatorial District primary election.
In the meantime, six of the eight local government areas that have been declared for the Delta South senatorial primary election are currently led by Senator Joel-Onowhakpo Thomas.
It appears that all 36 state governors are eyeing a move to the Senate, signaling a strong desire for legislative influence across the nation. Regardless of the ambitions, congratulations to all the winners—your efforts and victories are truly commendable.
