There is freedom in letting God be God

There is a strong desire in every human heart to see wrongs corrected, especially when the pain feels personal and prolonged. When you have been hurt, misunderstood, or treated unjustly, something within you longs for balance to be restored. You want things to be made right. You want truth to speak. You want justice to stand. Scripture does not ignore this feeling. It recognises it. It understands it. But it also teaches us something higher, something that requires both faith and restraint. The power to judge, to avenge, and to repay does not belong to us. It belongs to God. This is not because your pain is small. It is because God’s justice is perfect.

When Scripture speaks about God’s justice, it is not inviting us into revenge. It is calling us into trust. Trust in the One who sees beyond what we see. The One who made the ear hears every word. The One who formed the eye sees every detail. Nothing escapes His notice. No act is hidden. No intention is overlooked. What is done in secret is fully known to Him.

There is great power in knowing this. It means you are not forgotten. It means your story is not ignored. It means God is not distant from what concerns you. When God is the one who judges, you are released from the burden of trying to set everything right by your own strength. You do not have to carry bitterness. You do not have to hold on to anger. You do not have to repay wrong for wrong. Human anger, even when it feels justified, can easily go too far. It can become heavy, draining, and misdirected. But God’s justice is never careless. It is measured. It is purposeful. It is right in every way.

There are moments when it may seem as though God is silent. When nothing appears to be changing. When the wrong still stands and the truth feels hidden. But silence does not mean absence. Delay does not mean neglect. God sees. God knows. And God responds in His time and in His way. And when He moves, it is not only to correct what is wrong. It is to bring you into a place of peace. A place where your heart is no longer troubled by what others have done. A place where you are no longer defined by the pain you have experienced.

You do not need to carry the weight of vengeance. That burden was never given to you to hold. What you are called to carry is faith. Faith that the God who calls you His own is able to defend you, to restore you, and to establish what is right concerning you. There is freedom in letting God be God.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,
We thank You because You see all things and You know all things. Nothing is hidden from You, and nothing escapes Your understanding. Lord, we bring before You every pain, every injustice, and every situation where we have been wronged. We ask for the grace to release the desire to repay and the strength to trust You completely. Teach our hearts to rest in Your justice. Help us to let go of bitterness and not be consumed by anger. Where our hearts feel heavy, bring peace. Where our thoughts are troubled, bring clarity.

Father, we trust that You will act in Your perfect time. We trust that You will defend, restore, and make all things right according to Your will. Let Your peace guard our hearts. Let Your presence strengthen us. And let Your justice speak in every area of our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

QUOTES

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
