Workers Evacuate as Fire Erupts at Federal Secretariat in Abuja

There was panic at the Federal Secretariat complex in Abuja on Monday morning after a fire broke out in a section of the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

Eyewitnesses said the fire was first noticed around 8.20 am, prompting concern among workers and visitors within the complex. Videos circulating online showed thick black smoke rising from the affected part of the building as the situation unfolded.

The incident occurred in Section C of the building located within the Federal Secretariat Complex, Abuja.

Following the outbreak, staff members were seen leaving the building while emergency responders were alerted to the scene to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other sections of the complex.

The media department of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation later confirmed the incident, stating that the fire was confined to one section of the building.

According to officials, emergency personnel were already working to control the situation and ensure the safety of staff and facilities.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the fire as of the time this report was filed. There was also no immediate confirmation of casualties or the extent of damage caused by the incident.
