Nigerian filmmaker Biodun Stephen has shared details of her weight-loss journey, stating that she lost 22 kg following months of intense work and a total lifestyle change.
The filmmaker revealed that her battle with weight started years ago in a recent Instagram post. She claimed that once she began to notice health problems, everything changed.
“I stepped into the 3 digit weight category in 2010. I paid no mind until small small health challenges began to creep in.
“I realized the weight gain was actually induced by stress. I needed a complete lifestyle change. 6 hours sleep time, understanding my metabolism, a long list of dos and dont.
“By April of 2025 ,I only successfully lost 4kg. I was so disheartened. Then I decided to get help and for 3 month, I quickly shed another 10kg.
“That was all the boost I needed, something to encourage me on this journey. By September, I had successfully lost a total of 14kg. But i was still 12kg away from my goal.
“Even if it was 2 kilo beneath 100kg, I would take it. From September, I took my walking seriously, gave my metabolism 14-16 hours to process my intake, slept 6 hours, took my vitamins religiously and 2 weeks ago after 16 months, I stepped on the scale and I saw 98kg. 22kg lost.
“This is a win for me. The bigger win is to ensure i stay in my 2 digits era till end of year, na den I go kee cow.”
