BREAKING: Sharafadeen Alli beats Adelabu as he wins Oyo APC guber ticket

Oyo South senator, Sharafadeen Alli, has emerged the winner of the Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election.

According to DailyPost, Alli polled 578,143 votes, beating former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who scored 19,193 votes and one other.

Adelabu resigned from his ministerial position to contest the Oyo State governorship seat.

Recall that the former minister had alleged that the primary election was manipulated.

Adelabu made the allegation on Thursday while interacting with newsmen after voting at his ward.

Speaking to journalists, he said, “I must sound this note of warning that it is not this way in a lot of other wards.

“Reports reaching me state that there are a lot of gross misconducts in the other wards, ranging from various forms of infractions.

“In some wards, they conducted the election hours before the appointed time and wrote the figures they liked.”

The APC last ruled Oyo state during the tenure of the late governor Ajimola Ajimobi before Engineer Seyi Makinde of the PDP took over on May 29 2019.

Makinde has since announced a merger between the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the state and is looking to install a successor
