Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady, has urged stakeholders to bolster prevention efforts and increase access to treatment in order to eradicate malaria.
The First Lady emphasized the importance of safeguarding public health and expediting efforts to eradicate the disease in a statement released on Saturday in honor of World Malaria Day 2026.
Tinubu emphasized the significance of ongoing cooperation, more domestic funding, and creative approaches to address new issues like drug resistance and unequal access to healthcare while highlighting this year’s theme, “United Against Malaria.”
“Let us strengthen prevention efforts, support life-saving interventions, and ensure that every community, especially the most vulnerable, has access to the materials needed to prevent and treat malaria,” she said.
Tinubu expressed optimism that a coordinated approach would deliver lasting results, adding that, “When we stand united, we can achieve a malaria-free world.”
Oluremi Tinubu’s call for united action on World Malaria Day 2026 underscores the importance of collective responsibility in combating this deadly disease. By fostering collaboration among governments, organizations, and communities, we can make significant strides toward eradication and ensure a healthier future for all.
