Adeboye Explains Why RCCG Will Not Dismiss Remi Tinubu As Pastor

Published on

Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has stated unequivocally that Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, will remain an ordained pastor in the church.

Adeboye made this statement today during the monthly Holy Ghost Service.

The cleric clarified that Oluremi Tinubu’s husband, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had no intention of running for president when she was ordained as an assistant pastor over a decade ago.

He emphasized that the First Lady underwent the entire ordination process and has not broken any church rules.

The church won’t give in to outside pressure to have her removed, he continued.

He stated that the person who will lead Nigeria in the 2027 presidential election has already received divine ordination.

While denying accusations that the church has remained silent, he also discussed the insecurity facing Christians in northern Nigeria.

According to the pastor, the church has persisted in offering assistance through welfare programs and camps for internally displaced people.

The statement from Adeboye seems to suggest that the relationship between the RCCG and Remi Tinubu is one of mutual respect and understanding. Adeboye’s position highlights the church’s commitment to supporting its members, regardless of their profession or position in society.

The fact that Remi Tinubu is allowed to continue serving as a pastor underscores the church’s focus on spiritual growth and development, rather than her political affiliation. Ultimately, this move by the RCCG is a testament to the church’s inclusive and accepting nature, embracing its members as individuals rather than mere politicians.
