God made Himself visible so we could know Him

Whenever heaven reaches into the affairs of men, whether through an angel or a vessel carrying God’s presence, the first words are often the same: do not be afraid. This is seen clearly in the Bible.

When the angel appeared to Mary, he first told her not to be afraid. When Zechariah saw the angel in the temple, he was also told not to fear. The shepherds, when they saw the glory of heaven, heard the same message. The women at the tomb were reassured in the same way. Even Daniel, when he saw a vision, was first strengthened with these words. Before God speaks or reveals His purpose, He calms the heart, showing that His presence comes not to harm, but to draw us closer to Him.

God’s presence is so powerful that it can overwhelm the human heart. But in Jesus, we see a different way. God does not come in fire or thunder. He comes as a child, gentle and easy to approach. This shows us something important. God wants us to come close to Him without fear. He is not trying to frighten us, but to draw us near in love.

This gentle way of coming can be hard to understand. Many people expected God to appear with clear power and greatness. Instead, He came as a baby in Bethlehem and grew up as a carpenter’s son in Nazareth. Because of this, many people did not recognise Him. The same can happen today. We often look for God in big and dramatic moments, and we miss Him in simple and quiet ways. God may be speaking through a small opportunity, a helpful word, or a quiet thought in your heart. Just because it is simple does not mean it is not God.

Jesus shows us why God chose this way. He came so people could relate with Him directly. As a young boy, He sat in the temple and spoke with the teachers. There was no fear, just open conversation. This is the kind of relationship God wants with you. You can come to Him freely, speak honestly, and ask your questions. In Jesus, God has made Himself near. You do not need to be afraid to come to Him.

QUOTES

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
