Gov Buni Calls On Clerics To Pray For Nigeria, Tinubu, And Other Leaders

Hon. Mai Mala Buni, the governor of Yobe State, has asked Nigerians to offer prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria, and other national leaders.

During a meeting on Tuesday with the chief imams of Jummat mosques throughout the state, he made the request.

In a statement to the Governor, Comrade Mohammed Mamman, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs revealed this.

According to Mamman, more than 800 chief imams from the various Friday Jummat mosques attended the first part of the gathering, which was arranged for Muslim and Christian clerics in the state.

He explained that there would be no meaningful development without peace, “and that is why it is important for us to come together to support our leaders to save our country”.

“Many people were killed, millions displaced, and properties destroyed. We cannot afford to be drawn back into such an experience; therefore, we should support our leaders to ensure Nigeria remains united and peaceful.

“We thank God for the relative peace we now enjoy, and we cannot afford to toy with it. We will support the federal government to guard it jealously,” Gov.Buni added.

The Governor reminded the people that “they have no other country to call home except Nigeria.

“Therefore, it is our responsibility as citizens to pray for a lasting peace and prosperity of Nigeria, and for God to guide President Tinubu and all other leaders.”

“It is a great joy that here in Yobe state, we enjoy peace and harmony among our clerics and the understanding of the need for prayers for our leaders,” he said.

In these challenging times marked by widespread suffering, food insecurity, and soaring fuel prices, Nigeria truly needs the collective prayers of its people. The hardships faced by many underscore the importance of spiritual unity and divine intervention to guide the nation through its difficulties and towards a more prosperous future.
