Former Big Brother Naija housemate Queen Mercy Atang has sparked conversations online over a possible Guinness World Records attempt after the record body reacted to her viral bread-themed outfit at the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
Recall that the 2026 AMVCA ceremony was held on May 9 at Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, where Queen Mercy Atang became one of the standout personalities on the red carpet.
The reality TV star drew massive attention after appearing in a costume creatively designed to resemble loaves of bread, complete with accessories inspired by her bakery business.
According to reports, the outfit was made with 500 loaves of bread and designed by celebrity fashion designer Tiannah Empire.
The conversation intensified after Guinness World Records reacted to a video Queen shared from the event on Instagram. In the comment section, the organisation hinted at a possible record attempt by writing: “Well, we do have a record for the largest cake dress … hmmm.”
Reacting to the comment, Queen Mercy Atang replied: “Hello @guinnessworldrecords, I see you in the comment section.”
According to Guinness World Records, the current record for the world’s largest wearable cake dress weighs 131.15kg and was achieved by Natasha Coline Kim Fah Lee Fokas of SweetyCakes GmbH in Bern, Switzerland, on January 15, 2023.
Explaining the inspiration behind her outfit, Queen stated that the look represented her entrepreneurial journey in the baking industry.
“AMVCA 2026 ready. I come as an entrepreneur who runs a bread EMPIRE,” she wrote while unveiling the costume online.
Amid the buzz generated by her appearance, the former BBNaija star also proposed the introduction of a special entrepreneurs-focused segment within the AMVCA lineup.
In an open letter addressed to MultiChoice Group and Africa Magic, Queen suggested the creation of an “AMVCA Nigerian Entrepreneurs Night” to celebrate business owners, creativity, and innovation in Nigeria.
