Popular Nigerian influencer, Tolani Tayo-Osikoya, widely known as “Diary of a Kitchen Lover,” has revealed that she converted from Christianity to Islam.
Chef T made the announcement via her official Instagram page on March 16, 2026, sharing a video where she opened up about her spiritual journey.
According to her, she was born into a Christian family but later married a Muslim man. She clarified that her decision to convert was entirely personal, noting that she was not pressured into the move and had actually embraced Islam quietly nearly 10 years ago.
She explained that transitioning between religions is a sensitive topic, but she has reached a stage in life where she is confident about her choices.
Chef T also revealed that her parents were supportive of her relationship with her Muslim partner, adding that she was warmly accepted by her in-laws despite her Christian background at the time.
Speaking further, she noted that her journey into Islam was gradual, driven by a desire for deeper understanding rather than a sudden decision.
Reflecting on Ramadan 2026, Chef T shared that it is her first time fully engaging with the Quran, describing the experience as fulfilling and enlightening. She added that she is enjoying her faith and hopes to improve in practicing the five pillars of Islam, with plans to perform Hajj in the future.
She concluded by emphasizing that beyond religious practice, how people treat others is what truly matters, urging individuals to reflect on whether they are simply following religion or genuinely striving for heaven.
