Shettima Exposes How They Accused Him Of Plotting To Kill Tinubu To Damage His Reputation

According to Vice President Kashim Shettima, some people allegedly told President Bola Tinubu not to wear the traditional clothes he gave him during the 2023 election campaign because they were magical and might kill him.

During the public release of former Head of State Yakubu Gowon’s autobiography, My Life of Duty and Allegiance, on Tuesday in Abuja, Vice President Shettima gave a speech.

The vice president claims that the people, who are allegedly from Borno State, warned President Tinubu that if he continued to wear the outfits, he might die and Shettima would win the presidency.

“When I came back from China, where I had represented him at the Belt and Road Initiative Conference, he said, ‘Sit down. Your people came to me and said I should stop wearing those dresses you gave me. They said I must have been charmed, and that I am going to die and he will become the president,’” Shettima recounted.

““Their story did not add up because when you gave me those dresses, I was an aspirant. I wasn’t even the candidate. Neither were you the vice-presidential candidate.”

“For one week, to prove to them that he is not fetish, he wore those dresses. These are some of the gimmicks taking place in power circles in Nigeria nowadays.”

“Suspicion smears our relationships, and it ought not to be. We are essentially one people tied to a common destiny.”

Shettima also commended Gowon for his contribution to the creation of the National Youth Service Corps and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), as well as for fostering national unity following the civil war.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, represented by Senator Ireti Kingibe, Court of Appeal President Monica Dongban-Mensem, and retired military officers were present at the event.

People often find it difficult to see two individuals working harmoniously and genuinely happy together. Instead, they may go to great lengths to create conflict and sow discord, driven by envy or malice.

I am glad that their evil plans did not succeed and that the President remained steadfast, refusing to allow their attempts to poison his mind against his Vice. True loyalty and unity are more powerful than any scheme designed to tear them apart.
