Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, claimed that his recent trip to Morocco was personal rather than political.

Atiku denied any political motivation for the visit in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu. Politics

He clarified that on Saturday, the former vice president traveled to Marrakech to attend and preside over a wedding ceremony.

Cherina and Muna Okey Ezeibe were married in the Moroccan city under the direction of Atiku. His assistant claimed that the occasion had nothing to do with politics and was founded on a long-standing personal friendship.

According to Shaibu, Atiku and Mr. Okey Ezeibe, the groom’s father, have been close for a long time.

He also prayed for peace, happiness and prosperity for the couple.

The wedding attracted dignitaries and guests from different African countries, including the bride’s father, Mr. Lassina Zerbo, former Prime Minister of Burkina Faso.
